You will forever be in our hearts ♥♥ our beloved cat Blackie was put down earlier.
he would have died between 6:26pm (when we left him) and 6:35pm (15 minutes ago).
we couldn't bear to be there when the vet gave him the overdose of anathestic to put him down.
he died from kidney failure. the vet said that Blackie woulda been wasting away for years - this kind of thing happens so that you don't realise anything is wrong until it is too late.
he was starting to look off colour with the heatwave, and as he's black furred we all thought that he was suffering from the heat. then he started to become really thin and he stopped eating and drinking. today we got really worried because he was either lying on the tiles in the bathroom, or else he'd be curled around the wheels of the computer chair when I was on here. so we rang the vet, took him there (Dad held him on his lap all the car journey in the passenger seat)...and he's never coming home.
he's going to be cremated.
we were given the choice of being given his ashes back to spread or keep as we wish, but we all agreed we wouldn't cope being near where they were scattered.
he was an old cat though. he came to us in 1999 and was with us ever since.
the vet said that it was amazing because this kidney failure generally means that the cat dies almost immediately, and Blackie showed immense courage and bravery to be able to carry on for as long as he did.

you came into our lives when we least expected it, and you gave us love, joy, hope and shared in our happiness and our sorrows with us.
you were more human then anything, and I'll forever remember the way that you would jump up on someone's lap and try to eat our dinners, or how you would sleep in our laps...or try to come up onto the sofa when I was lying on a clean sheet on it...or how I'd be here on the computer and you'd jump up and nearly push me off the chair, and so I only got half the chair because I had to share with you.
I'll always remember the day that I caught in pictures when I wrapped you up in a sheet on the sofa and you slept like a baby...literally.
Fluffy will miss you so much.
